Environmental Lifestyle Expert Danny Seo

Danny Seo has created an eco-friendly way of living he calls “Simply Green.” Not to be confused with the cleaner Simple Green that my husband swears by, Simply Green is a way to lead a modern, stylish, yet eco-friendly life.

Appropriately enough, Danny was born on Earth Day in 1977. Danny founded Earth 2000, an environmental group, with only the help of friends and $23. By the time Danny turned 18 years old, Earth 2000 was the largest teenage activist charity.

Danny has written several books about living green. “Conscious Style Home,” released in 2001, tells how you can decorate and renovate your home into an eco-friendly showplace. From repainting to planting an organic garden, “Conscious Style Home” covers projects and ideas to help make your living space more beautiful and green. In 2006, Danny released both “Simply Green Parties: Simple and Resourceful Ideas for Throwing the Perfect Celebration, Event, or Get-Together” and “Simply Green Living: Create Beautiful Gift Wrapping, Tags, and Handmade Treasures from Everyday Materials.” If you have ever wondered how you could turn paint chips into wine glass ID tags or how to recycle an old book into a ring box, you may want to pick up both of these helpful books.

You are probably thinking, “Okay, this stuff comes easily to Danny, but what about me?” For those that need more help, as on a daily basis like me, Danny will release the Danny Seo Recycles 2010 Wall Calendar later in the year. This color calendar (printed on recyclable paper of course!) is filled with hints and tips for going green. Danny is also going to release the Do Just One Thing calendar for 2010 as well. This calendar features articles from Danny’s syndicated column “Do Just One Thing” that appears in newspapers.

If you can’t wait on the 2010 calendars, check out Danny’s blog at Daily Danny.

Danny has also partnered with JC Penney to design their “Simply Green” campaign, which helps customers of the store pick out eco-friendly products both in the stores and on their online site. He has also partnered with Method Products to produce a line of eco-friendly cleaning and personal care supplies. As the spokesperson for Call2Recycle, Danny encourages people to recycle their old cell phones and rechargeable batteries.

Danny also has a DVD called “Simple Steps to a Greener Home.” See, living green doesn’t have to be hard, you just have to apply yourself a bit to make the world a much better place!

About Libby Pelham

I have always loved to write and Families.com gives me the opportunity to share my passion for writing with others. I work full-time as a web developer at UTHSC and most of my other time is spent with my son (born 2004). I love everything pop culture, but also enjoy writing about green living (it has opened my eyes to many things!) and health (got to worry about that as you get older!).
