Event Planning: 80s Flashback Bachelor/Bachelorette Party

Let’s have some fun today! Are you planning a wedding sometime soon or are you part of the wedding party of an upcoming wedding? If so, traditionally, it’s up the best man and the maid of honor to throw the bachelor and bachelorette party respectively. With that in mind, have you thought about throwing an 80’s theme party?

For many of us in our 30s, the 80s were our formative years. This is the decade that produced musical hits such as:

  • Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
  • Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr
  • Glory of Love by Peter Cetera
  • Shout by Tears for Fears
  • Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield

An 80s theme party may include everything from dressing the part to playing games including – Name that Tune – Name that Line and much more. In fact, imagine wearing the net shirt, the Madonna gloves and even going for a little moonwalking while you are dancing.

Movie trivia, music, fashion, fun and even games that were popular in the 80s are a great way to pass the time. Chances are these ideas may be more popular with the ladies than with the guys, still – consider the various things you can do with this kind of a party – I’ll work on a list of party games that would be fun to do either at a wedding shower, bachelorette party or even an 80s theme reception! The possibilities are endless.
