Game Description:

Exact Change combines an excellent teaching lesson with fun, fast paced action that the entire family will love. The goal is to play all of your cards first. You can discard cards by matching the color of the last card played, by matching the currency value (play a penny on a penny), or by making EXACT CHANGE. Making exact change allows you to discard multiple cards that add up to the value of the last card played. If the last card played shows a quarter, you can make exact change by playing two dimes and a nickel- allowing you to discard three cards in one play!

What We Think

This may be an educational game and an unlikely choice for family game night but the fast paced fun places high on the list. The game is definitely educational as it has sharpened money skills of the kids. However, it is one educational game that has crossed over into the “fun enough to play outside of school hours” category. The challenge may not be as great for my 12 year old but he still enjoys the game play. My seven year old has learned so much quicker how to make change from this game than from her math books. She learned so quick because she had to keep up with the rest of the family….we can be quite competitive. Exact Change is educational enough to use to teach a child to make change and fun enough that the whole family will enjoy playing.
