Family Game Night: Flippin’ Out!

Game: Flippin’ Out

Made by: Endless Games

Age Recommendation: 10 and up

Number of Players: 2 or more people or teams

Game Description:

Flippin’ Out: The outrageous category-party game where a Letter or a Player is eliminated with each Flip of a Chip! Can you come up with a Rock Band beginning with the Letter “P”? How about a board game beginning with “N”? Players and teams race back and forth flipping letter chips that correspond with the answers they come up with. Once a letter is flipped, it can NOT be used again for that category. You’re either FLIPPIN’ or you’re OUT!

Game Play:

Play with teams or individuals. On the player’s turn he picks a card with listed categories. He spins a spinner to choose the category based on the corresponding color the spinner pointed to. He announces the category and flips over the timer. The player or team to his left then begins. If the category is monster movies, the player may say Frankenstein before the timer runs out. The player then flips over the letter “F” chip and now no one else can choose an answer that begins with that letter. The play continues until all the letters or flipped over or someone can no longer answer. That ends the first round. Once that round ends a new one begins by choosing another card with a category.

How did we like it on Family Game Night?

We loved it! It was that simple. We played it over and over again. The age recommendation can be flexible but it is fairly accurate. My 7 year old had fun but we showed grace when she answered correctly but used a letter that was already flipped. The game rules say that the first answer from a team member is the answer that must be played. We broke that rule when we had a young one on our team. My older kids and my husband and I had a wonderful time. It is one of those games that we know will come with us to the next family event. The categories are interesting and really make you think. The game is more challenging then it appears but that is half the fun. Get ready for a night of fast paced antics and laughter!
