Feel Good Cleaning Products

Nothing makes me happier than an empty dishwasher and a full refrigerator. I mean, really, is there anything in life more pleasing to a busy mom than a clean house? Other than it staying clean for more than 45 minutes? Or having a band of cleaning fairies sweep into your home each week and sanitize it from top to bottom for free?

All wishful thinking; still, there is something to be said about feel good cleaning. For some, using eco-friendly cleaning products that don’t force them to compromise their ethics is one way to make cleaning more tolerable. Organic cleaners are essential for vegan cleaners as they do not include the use of animals in the products or in the manufacturing process. In addition, there are typically no genetically modified organisms or products used in “green” cleaners. Organic cleaners are also free of synthetic chemicals, including strong fragrances.

If you are unsure if your favorite cleaner is chemical free look at the ingredients featured on the back of the product. The label should not include the following: phthalates, sulfates, formaldehyde, polymers, silicones, talc, parabenes, ethylene glycol butyl ether, sodium hypochlorite, ethoxylated nonyl phenols or methylene chloride. Most planet friendly cleaning products are made with all-natural ingredients, such as: sucrose, beeswax, seaweed, zinc oxide, proteins, herbs, witch hazel, and cocoa butter.

High quality organic cleaners are certified and can be found at most natural food stores and select big box retailers. In addition to having a seal or some sort of certification on the package, most eco-friendly cleaners have words like “No phosphates” or “Plant based” featured prominently on the bottle or container.

One of the most popular brands of organic cleaners on the market today is Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day. The company makes a complete line of products with essential oils, not harsh chemicals. Top picks are Mrs. Meyer’s all purpose cleaner, countertop spray, dish soap, laundry detergent, shower spray, toilet bowl cleaner and window cleaner.

Are you a fan of organic cleaners?
