Five Big Vs for a Vital, Viable Marriage

There are several but the first one I’m going to suggest is vigilance.

Vigilance

The dictionary meaning of vigilance is watchfulness. It seems to me that am a good idea to keep watch on our marriage to see if there is anything that needs to be changed to make it better. Two other meanings are caution and circumspect. We need to be cautious and circumspect in our behavior, particularly when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex, whether that is friends or the man or woman at work or in the supermarket. Always remember the wedding ring on your finger, and that it is a sign that you are not available. not even for a flirtation.

Vibrant

A marriage should be vibrant. The way to keep it that way is to make sure you have time together, that you enjoy spending time together and you take time to sit and talk to each other.

Versatile

In a marriage you will need to be versatile. Sometimes you’ll be asked to handle things you don’t normally deal with, like if a crisis arises. We never know what each day will bring so while it’s okay to make plans, it’s also good to be versatile enough to change those plans without drama should the need arise.

Vigorous

We all know the plant in the garden that is so vigorous it thrives in all sorts of conditions. But most need good conditions. So does our marriage. What we want is a vigorous marriage, one that is growing and changing and is above all, strong. We help it stay strong by favorable conditions, by showing our spouse how special they are and how much we love them and value them.

Vitalize

Vitalize your marriage by taking time out sometimes just to do something crazy or out of the ordinary together or as a family. Anything which gets you out of the rut of everyday living is good.
