Free Gallon of Paint from Pittsburgh Paints

One weekend while Paul was away, I got the idea in my head that I wanted to change the bedroom. I was tired of white walls. He came home to a room with all four walls painted 49er red. I’d taken his 49er jacket down and had the paint matched. He loved it. It has remained red, even though I’m ready for a change.

Paint is one of the most inexpensive ways to change up a room. What a difference it makes when a wall’s been freshly painted. Sometimes I do it even more cheaply. My kitchen is a lovely shade of grey courtesy of a $1 “oops” can of paint from Home Depot. One of my friends paints her outdoor buildings and sheds with reclaimed paint from the Hazardous Waste Disposal – absolutely free. We’ve used the HWD to paint sets for plays, as primers, and to paint the deck. People drop off their half-used (sometimes almost full!) cans of paint. In our area, all it takes to get as many cans as you need is a signature and a keen eye.

When I’m looking for a specific color (our office walls are mud-colored), I try to keep an eye out for rebates or sales. I’d rather wait for a quality paint on sale than to use cheap paint at any price. The good news is that right now, I don’t have to wait.

Pittsburgh Paint is so confident that you’ll love their Timeless line that they’re offering a coupon for a free gallon of Timeless in their matte finish. All you have to do is send an email. You’ll get a snail mail coupon good for a free gallon, and the location of the nearest store that carries Pittsburgh. It’s a $35 value. I can’t wait to get mine. I think I’m going to change those bedroom walls to Seahawk Blue!
