After recording, editing, and adding extra sounds and music, a person puts their podcast online, for people to listen to. A podcast can be about any subject at all. Many podcasts are educational.
One nice thing about podcasts is that you can download and listen to them for absolutely free. One quick way to find podcasts is to look at the iTunes store. From here, you can do a search to find podcasts on genealogy. If you find one you like, you can subscribe to the podcast, and new episodes will automatically start downloading into your iTunes.

Genealogy Guys Podcast
George G. Morgan and Drew Smith talk about upcoming genealogy conferences, recent news related to genealogy, and where to find resources to search through. They include email from listeners to the podcast who share their experiences with genealogy, or ask a genealogy related question.
Genealogy On Demand
Shamele Jordan covers genealogy topics like planning family reunions, recording family stories, and researching family history. Each episode includes a “How To” segment, news related to genealogy, and emails that listeners send in. Some episodes may contain an interview between Shamele Jordan, and a person who is an expert or professional in a genealogy related field.
MacGenealogist
This is a video podcast that teaches you, step-by-step, how to use utilize your Mac computer when you are doing genealogy. You may want to click on the “start here” link on the website for this podcast, and make sure you have the relevant software, before you begin watching this podcast. After that, you can follow right along. This is one simple way to learn how to do genealogy.
Family Roots Radio
This podcast is hosted by the well-known genealogical author, speaker, and researcher, Kory L. Meyerink. He covers genealogy topics that are relevant to all people who are interested in family history, from beginners to professionals. He answers questions from email that listeners send to him. You can hear interviews with important people in genealogy, learn about free genealogy resources, and websites and software that are helpful with genealogy. Thirteen episodes of this podcast were recorded in 2007. The podcast seems to have stopped after that, but the information in them can still be useful.
