Free Online Story Books for Your Homeschool

Story Time for Me is a unique website dedicated to developing avid readers in children. The online books have delightful characters, entertaining stories, and colorful pictures which immediately engage the child into the story. Children as young as toddlers will love the interactive stories and beg to keep reading and listening to all their favorite characters. Children love the magic of books and this program will keep the magic alive while reinforcing important skills. Developing a love for reading at an early age will manifest into a student with better listening, writing and critical thinking skills. As the child hears the story and sees the words his phonemic awareness and vocabulary will grow.

As my readers know, I do not believe whatever gets your kid to read is great. I believe only in reading books and using reading programs that are intellectually stimulating and have merit. While this program is fun, colorful, and involves online books it does possess the ability to enhance your child’s learning and love of reading. This is a nice place to start your child on his adventure in reading.

So how do you get these books for free? Story Time for Me is allowing homeschoolers to take advantage of grant funds their literacy organization has received to encourage reading in children. Homeschoolers can sign up to receive two free interactive storybooks for their children every year. That’s right, every year you will get 2 free storybooks. While you can purchase additional books you will not be pressured to buy anything. This organization has a true heart for sparking the minds of children through reading.

Read this from the founder, Andrew Gitt:

“”We already have 50 books and a special educational series is now in development, and we expect to have them made available in just months. Our special educational series will read just like an actual flip-open pop-up book, except that ours teaches vocabulary and offers educational information. For example, when one clicks on ‘lacrosse stick’ the pop-up text appears and narrates the following: “This is a long stick with a net on the end which players use to catch and throw the ball.” Each book will teach well over 100 vocabulary words with explanations in a fun unique way.

If you would like to take a look at the children’s books, you can view a couple sample stories from our home page at www.StoryTimeForMe.com. Keep in mind that although we do charge to the public, this specific program will not cost the homeschoolers anything as it’s been underwritten by a grant to encourage reading in the home.””

Now, if you are interested in signing up for the teacher program simply go to www.storytimeforme.com/teacher-signup and use “homeschool” as your referral code. Again, this is completely free! I love companies that make their products available to homeschoolers! However, if you know a teacher or daycare provider who would like to sign up for this please let them know as it is also available to teachers and daycare providers nationwide. Here is a link to the PDF file to view or print off for a teacher, daycare provider or homeschooling friend.
