Freezer Cooking: How To Save Money On Freezer Storage

frugal living, freezer cooking, OAMCAs the Queen of Freezer Cooking, affectionately nicknamed by my friends and family, you have heard me preach and preach about saving money by freezer cooking. Yes, it works. It saves loads of money a month because you are not as tempted to eat out, you always have delicious meals to heat up and serve quickly, and the time you save, equals savings as well.

But what about when you have to purchase storage containers, and foil pans to store all of your delicious meals to go in the freezer. Doesn’t that change the cost? And doesn’t that cost add up? Yes, it can.

However, there are ways to help combat the cost, and work hard to save even more money. It does take a little initial investment, but if you have a friend, neighbor or family member that freezer cooks too, split the cost. Then you are both saving even more money.

So how do you save money on freezer storage?

First, I recommend a visit to Sams or Costco or any other Bulk Shopping Warehouse. Simply put, the best bargains are usually found here. Yes, it does mean you have to buy bulk, but trust me you’ll probably wind up using the items at some point, and as I mentioned above, share the cost with another frugal freezer cooker!

Second, I have found that shopping on the Internet can be a great way to get these products for less. I found one site that sells individual foil pans with lids for $.35 a piece if you buy in bulk. (100 for $35.00). That is an extremely good deal! And although you are probably thinking, “What am I going to do with 100 foil pans?”, you should be able to use them. If you are freezing lots of meals, you will be using upwards of 10-20 of them at a time. In addition, you can clean them out and reuse them. Plus as I mentioned before, share with someone else. Even if it’s not someone you know well, I’m sure others will benefit.

Third, join freezer cooking groups online. Many of them bulk shop for products like this together. They share the cost of the items, and then pay for shipping to their address. This can save a lot of money over time and you will always have what you are looking for!

It’s easy to save money on freezer cooking storage methods if you know how. I have also found great savings on plastic baggies, and plastic containers when bought in bulk. You can also find great deals on tin foil, saran wrap, wax paper and other items. You just have to look for it, and you will find it!
