Fresh Flower Ideas for Layouts

Flower Uses on Layout and Cards

Incorporating flowers into your layouts can be a simple way to add a finishing touch to your project. Scrapbook safe flowers come in all shapes, sizes, colors and materials. I would like to share with you some thing that I have made using flowers as accents on my projects.

Cardstock Flowers

The paper flowers used on this layout and card are from Bazzill Basics. In addition to providing great cardstock, they also have some fun embellishments. These flowers are cut right from their high quality paper.

In this layout I used the flowers to help frame part of the picture. I inked the flowers to add some definition and overlapped them to give them a playful and relaxed look.

The card uses the same flower style as the above layout. This card would have been fine without the flower, but I think that it gives it a nice finishing touch.

Acrylic Flowers

This album cover uses acrylic flowers from Heidi Swapp. I like that they are transparent so they add a nice, subtle touch to the cover. If you would like more information on things to do with acrylic flowers, you can read this blog.

Paper Flowers

These flowers are so much fun to work with. Use your creativity to think of ways to attach them to your page. You can always use a brad through the center of the flower to attach it to the page.

In this Friends layout, I tied a ribbon with a knot in the center and then pushed the two loose ends through the flower. I kept the ends long enough so that they could be seen sticking out from under the flower.

On this layout I used the flowers to create a border along the side of the photo. I used a small rhinestone sticker in the center of each flower and then attached the flowers to the page with glue dots.

On this card I used small flowers from Prima to create a simple border across the page. They are attached with glue dots.

Here is another card that I made that simply used a flower in the center. I then customize ea floral center with rub ons add the “HI” to the card.

Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you to pull out some flowers and use them on your layouts.
