Friday Marriage Funnies: Wisdom of the Ages

My daughter is always talking about the latest boy she is going to marry and the plans that they are making. They will marry after college, but not before they are 25. They also have to be married 3 years before they can have their first baby and they must have at least three children, but no more than five. I find her viewpoints entertaining and refreshing. She is so certain in her beliefs and her convictions.

When I went up to the school the other day to help out in her library hour – I found myself vastly entertained by her classmates and their beliefs about marriage – considering the source of this wisdom, you are likely to find yourself laughing – and I firmly believe that laughing is a good thing.

When to Get Married

“You can’t get married until after Kindergarten because you might not end up in the same first grade.”

“If you get married in school, you always have someone to sit next to you at lunch.”

“I’d get married if I don’t have to marry a boy.”

“I can get married when I’m old enough to kiss a boy. I won’t be old enough until I’m 30.”

What About Dating?

“I date all the time. My mom calls them play dates.”

”I can only date on Thursdays and Saturdays, we’re busy the rest of the week.”

”Dates are for people who don’t like each other to figure out if they can like each other.”

Is it okay to be Single?

”It’s okay for girls, they have friends. Boys need someone to look after them if Mom won’t anymore.”

“Only if they like to play single player games.”

Why Do People Fall in Love?

“People love other people cause they smell good. That’s why my mom wears perfume.”

“People fall in love cause they like presents. When someone loves you they have to give you presents.”

”People fall in love cause they trip or they’re clumsy.”

“My daddy fell in love when he fell down on the snow. He broke his leg. So I think you have to break something when you fall in love or it doesn’t stick.”
