Frugal Freezer Breakfast Meals

Want to cut down on your breakfast expenses? One way to do it is to avoid the convenience cereal and create your own delicious breakfast meals that you can just grab on those hectic mornings.

We talk a lot about creating freezer meals in order to take advantage of sales and stocking up on great coupon deals. But often, breakfast gets forgotten when we consider creating and having freezer meals. This is a shame. Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. On top of that, making breakfast in bulk is pretty easy, and breakfast foods tend to freeze well.

This week, why not plan a morning or an afternoon in which you make up a bunch of frugal freezer breakfast meals?

There are several types of freezer breakfast meals that you can make. Here are some suggestions for you.

Pancakes

Triple or even quadruple the recipe (remember to cut back a bit on the baking soda) for larger families. Cook the pancakes and then freeze them between waxed paper. When it comes time to eat, pop as many as you like in the microwave or toaster oven.

Egg sandwiches

Fry up a few eggs at a time. an electric griddle and one of those round egg molds makes the job easier and faster. From here, you can do several things. You can just freeze the little egg patties as is. To eat, throw an english muffin in the toaster, microwave your egg separately and add some cheese if desired. You can also full assemble the sandwiches ahead of time. Round sausage works well, especially if it is already frozen. Use homemade biscuits, those english muffins, croissants, bagels, or whatever you desire. After assembling, wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil or use freezer bags. To heat these up, remove the foil, wrap in paper towel and microwave for a couple of minutes.
