Frugal Living Week In Review April 2nd – April 8th

With three of us in the frugal living blog, you are sure to find some amazing articles each week. If you haven’t had a chance yet, please go over and read our newest blogger’s introduction, My Name is Traci…and I’m a Frugaholic. Traci Anderson just joined the frugal living blog as the third blogger, and we are so excited to have her. I just love her blogs!

With the dozens of articles going up each week, it’s going to be easier for me to break it down by author. So, let’s see what the three frugal living bloggers have been up to this week.

Monday April 2nd

Traci: On Monday she posted her introduction, and then followed with Asthma, Allergies and a Few Frugal Cleaning Solutions, as well as I am a Cheapskate and Proud of It. We all are, and I’m so glad Traci addressed it in that article. It’s important to realize that frugality is actually a good thing, because so many people are actually embarrassed by it. That’s a shame!

Mary Ann: On Monday, Mary Ann kicked off the week with a great article titled Frugal Spring Cleaning: Taking Advantage of Nature, filled with helpful tips on allowing the environment to help us clean. Mary Ann just moved into her house and is desperately trying to get the house cleaned up, and her tips are excellent. Congrats on the move!

Nicole: What Is A Freezer Cooking Mini Session? If you didn’t know before, you will now. As a freezer cooking fanatic, I decided to kick the week off by explaining two other methods of freezer cooking in this article.

Tuesday April 3rd

Mary Ann: Did you know that Haggling Can Save You Big Bucks? Mary Ann shows you how in this excellent article.

Nicole: In April, I decided to focus on some of the finer points of freezer cooking, as well as bring you a whole series of garage sale articles. Check out Freezer Cooking: My Freezer Is Too Small and Garage Sale Season Has Arrived.

Wednesday April 4th

Mary Ann taught us How To Haggle, which was a nice follow-up to the previous days article.

Traci brought us a Frugal Fashion Tip: Just Say Thank You, in her article which shares her personal feelings about living so frugally and the fashion finds she gets for such a great deal. A funny, yet interesting article.

Nicole: I wanted to help others figure out How and Where To Find Garage Sales, so that bargain shopping was more a help than a hassle. In addition, I shared some personal stories in Freezer Cooking: What If I Ruin It? (1) and (2).

Thursday April 5th

Traci: Thursday brought a slightly humorous article, titled How Do You Teach Frugality to the MTV generation, and she is asking for your help.

Mary Ann: Thursday marks the day that Mary Ann started a series examining the way the Amish (a very frugal group of people) live. Her article, Frugal Lessons From The Amish, is awesome!

Nicole: Again, I focused on garage sales, and answered the question, Why Should I Have a Garage Sale? In Freezer Cooking: What Are The Best Storage Options? I showed you the different methods and items you can use to store your freezer meals, and followed up with Freezer Cooking Storage: Safety and Preservation of Flavor, which answered a question I had received regarding glass baking dishes.

Friday April 6th

Traci: Ending the work week, she brought us Frugal Tip: Avoid the Finer Things In Life at All Costs, and all I can say is – good advice!

Mary Ann gave us Five Frugal Easter Basket Ideas, which was great, just in time for Easter! In addition, she gave us another look into Amish life, in Frugal Lessons From The Amish: Mowing the Lawn. She also gave us some great pointers to Getting Out Melted Crayon.

Nicole: In Collecting Items For a Garage Sale, I have you some tips and pointers for figuring out what to sell. Freezer Cooking: What I Love Best is a two part article that discusses the many benefits of using freezer cooking.

Saturday April 7th

Mary Ann: Frugal Lessons from the Amish: Going Goodwilling was a great article giving pointers to living like the Amish and continuing to save money. She also taught us how to Make Your Own Sidewalk Chalk Eggs.

Nicole: I got you started on Organizing Items For a Garage Sale, so you could get moving on that terrific sale! I also wanted to keep on the freezer cooking theme so I gave you Freezer Cooking: Choosing Your Recipes to get you started on your big session!

Sunday, April 8th

Traci: Sunday, Traci started a new series with Being Generous on a Budget, Part One-Comfort Them With Food, in which she shares how great it is to receive frozen meals for gifts. She refers to my famous Freezer Cooking or Once a Month Cooking as an excellent gift idea, and trust me, it is!

Mary Ann: Frugal Lessons from the Amish: Growing Food, was a great resource for beginning to work on maintaining frugality and growing your own food for your family.

Nicole: In Freezer Cooking: Meal Planning (1) and (2) I focused on preparing a plan for your freezer cooking meals and how to make the most of the meals that you have.
