Funny, Money Graduation Gift

It’s the time of year for high school graduations. My friends and I all have kids around the same age so lots of graduations. I usually give the kids money, I have a hard time coming up with what they might really need. I don’t like to just give a card with money in it, or a gift card. I have to find a creative way to do it. This idea is so fun and keeps the guests laughing.

Materials
small square box- I got mine at the Dollar Store
construction paper
amount of money you are giving in all ones

Cut a rectangular hole in the top of the box, like a hole in a piggy bank, big enough to pull dollar bills out of.

Cut as many pieces of construction paper as you want, the exact size and shape of the a dollar bill. The more paper you use the funnier this is.

On the construction paper write little sayings, like, way to go, we are so proud of you, we knew you could do it, awesome, whatever strikes your fancy. You can also print out their school pictures from kindergarten to graduation and cut them to fit. I also added some that said, keep going, just a little farther, and pull!

Start taping the construction paper together, end to end, taping both sides so the edges won’t catch on the box.

After the construction paper is taped together, tape all the ones on, end to end.

Starting with the ones, roll the whole thing up, like a toilet paper roll.

Stick the roll in the box, poking the first piece of construction paper through the hole. Glue the lid on the box.

That’s it. You can put a ribbon or something on the piece of paper sticking out if you want but you don’t have to.

Now they have to pull and pull and read all the cute things you’ve said to them before they get to their present.
