Summer is nearly at an end. Genealogists may find themselves with little free time now that the new school year is about to begin. This is the perfect time to check out an online webinar. These can be fit around your schedule, and you don’t need to make travel arrangements in order to attend.
Online webinars are wonderful. You can attend them from the comfort and safety of your own home, (assuming that your home has an internet connection). You don’t have to book a flight or rent a car. There is no need to find a suitable hotel room. It doesn’t matter what you are wearing, and you are welcome to eat lunch or dinner while you attend the online genealogy webinar of your choice.
Here are a few upcoming genealogy webinars that genealogists will find interesting:
Legacy Family Tree has a webinar that will happen on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. This webinar is titled: “Building a Family from Circumstantial Evidence”. Genealogists cannot always find direct evidence that proves the connection between one family member and another. One solution is to use clues from “circumstantial evidence” to fill in the blanks. This webinar will be presented by Judy G. Russell, a certified genealogist who has a law degree. It will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon, ET.
Legacy Family Tree also has a webinar that will happen on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. This one will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon, ET. The webinar is called “Beyond the Arrival Date: Extracting More from Passenger Lists”. It will be presented by Lisa A. Alzo, who is a freelance writer, instructor, and specialist in Slovak/Eastern European genealogical research.
Family Tree University has a webinar that will happen on Monday, August 27, 2012. This one will begin at 1:00 in the afternoon, ET. This webinar is called “Louisiana Genealogy Crash Course: Find Your Bayou State Ancestors”. The webinar comes with two free downloads: a Louisiana State Guide and a New Orleans City Guide. It will be presented by Charlotte Bocage. The cost to attend is $49.99.
Ancestry.com Live has two live webinars coming up next week.
“Naturalization Record: What They Tell Me and Where to Find Them” will start at 1:00 in the afternoon EDT on August 28, 2012. The other will start at 2:30 in the afternoon EDT on August 30, 2012. It is called “Ancestry.com LIVE: Tips on How to Organize if You Haven’t Done it for Years”.
Ohana Software has a webinar that will happen on Thursday, September 6, 2012. It will begin at 9:00 in the morning, MDT. The webinar is called “Sharing Time – Increasing Productivity on the new FamilySearch”. Genealogists can learn how to use SharingTime to their advantage.
