I love having fun in the great outdoors swimming, biking, sailing, hiking, and running. However, when it comes to bungee jumping from the skid of a helicopter into an active volcano or rappelling down an iceberg, you can count me out.
Needless to say, my fear of heights (or more accurately, my fear of falling from high places) automatically disqualifies my family from appearing on TV’s latest reality series.
The producers of “Amazing Race,” “The Biggest Loser,” and “The Office” are currently searching for America’s most outgoing families to compete in exciting outdoor challenges in the nation’s most beautiful national parks.
If your idea of family fun is participating in extreme sports surrounded by awe-inspiring natural beauty, and you don’t mind cameras documenting your every move, then you might consider applying for the yet-to-be-titled show.
Did I mention you’ll get paid $5,000 if you are chosen?
To be considered for the program you need to submit the following information to greatoutdoorscasting@gmail.com:
1. Name and age of all family members
2. City and state in which you reside (this information must be included in the email subject line)
3. Contact information, including all current telephone numbers
4. Current photos of your family
5. A brief description of your family
6. A few paragraphs describing what you love about being in the great outdoors with your
family and a list of the biggest challenges associated with spending time in nature with your entire clan. Note: You must indicate whether any family member suffers from allergies.
To be considered for the series you must also have at least two children between the ages of 13 and 18 who are currently living at home.
Casting agent claim the series is not designed to embarrass, mock or degrade families. Rather, the show aims to promote family unity, physical activity and teamwork in the great outdoors.
