Going to the Chapel Month

Happy Monday! Happy May Day! Good Morning! So much is happening today and over the next two weeks that it makes my head want to spin! But here at the Marriage blog, we’re going to be pretty busy too. As I mentioned last week, May and June are really popular months for hosting weddings.

May and June also play host to Mother’s and Father’s Days. So in light of both of these, we’re going to the chapel this month. We’re going to jam pack this blog with wedding planning ideas, engagement party planning, wedding flora, wedding fauna and even more we’re going to talk about bachelor parties and wedding shower party ideas. We’re going to shower in wedding favors, ideas and planning.

I’m actually really excited by all of this as I have a dozen different ideas that could work for a dozen different types of weddings. Planning a wedding takes an incredible amount of time, energy and commitment. In today’s world, the average wedding can cost $22,000.

Yeah, it definitely boggles the mind. But before you take out a second mortgage on the house you haven’t bought yet, I’ll offer some tips to help consolidate wedding expenses and you can check out more Frugal ideas over in the frugal blog. We’ll talk about foods and reference our friends over in the food blog. Not to mention some ideas on hosting a wedding in your own backyard and we’ll get some help from Home & Garden for this.

Finally, we’ll talk about one of my favorite topics – the five minute wedding. While wedding ceremonies can be tremendously moving, there are a lot of us that would like to move from the ceremony to the reception. So whether you are looking to personalize the experience, trying to help a friend come up with some wedding planning or just flat out enjoy collecting ideas for tolling those wedding bells, the May Marriage Blog is the place to be. Here’s a sampling of topics you’ll see here for the next week:

  • Engagement Party Ideas
  • Wedding Types
  • Wedding Cakes
  • Fauna At Your Wedding?
  • More Bridal Shower Ideas
  • When Sisters Marry – Planning a Joint Wedding
  • Planning a Reception?
