Great Finds For Scrapbookers

Besides journaling, my other favorite topic is organizing. But not just with my scrapbooking. I tend to love organizing all around me, in every aspect of my life.

Now, I can be a clutter bug just like everyone else, but if I have the proper tools to stay organized I am happy to live that way. It’s a much cleaner way to live and your thoughts and creativity flow so much better when you are surrounded by an organized world.

Lately I have been researching some great tools that scrapbookers use in their scrapbook rooms or areas to make organization a bit more fun. I requested only things that were budget friendly, things that you can find at more than just specialty store and things that might have other uses too. I didn’t want anything that was only scrapbook specific.

I’d like to share with you some of the great finds!

scrapbooking storage organizationPegboard

Available at any office supply store or home improvement store. This wonderful product can be mounted to a wall, or cabinet door. Once I began researching the prices and availability of pegboards I also learned that the different pegs and hooks are limitless. There are so many different types available if you search for them. Things you can use in many different ways! Just a piece of pegboard costs anywhere between $5.00-$10.00. The hooks and other devices for the pegboard can be anywhere from a few pennies for a basic hook and about $5.00 for one of the specialty types of hooks. You can hang all types of things from these pegs such as scissors, tools like a crimper, heat guns, and more. Templates can be hung by hooks, and some even have cups that can attach to them to hold pens, pencils or other items.

scrapbooking storage organizationCutlery Caddy or Dishwasher Caddy

Not only are there some unique and fun cutlery caddies, but they are available almost anywhere that sells anything kitchen related. You can find basket style or some that rotate. There are colors and patterns or just a basic wood one. With a dishwasher caddy you have approximately six slots to hold scissors, pens, pencils, basically any tool that can fit. I use one for my decorative scissors and it’s great! Prices range from approximately $5.00-$20.00 depending on the style, and design you are interested in.

These can be purchased anywhere that sells outdoor supplies. They are available in an array of colors and can be soft-sided or hard plastic. You can store everything from small embellishments to larger tools and supplies. Typically they have dozens of different sized compartments, some removable. My favorite brand is Flambeau but I also really like Plano. I have the two pictured here and I keep many of my smaller metal embellishments in the soft sided one. In the hard one I keep other craft supplies for card making and some other crafts I make. The different tackle boxes range in price from $9.99 to $39.99 for the larger cases.

These are probably my three most favorite ideas that scrapbookers had for inexpensive storage that you can find anywhere, and isn’t actually scrapbook exclusive. Now, don’t get me wrong. If you find a scrapbook exclusive storage that works for you, I say go for it. But for lower cost, multi-use storage, these products take the cake.

What do you use that isn’t scrapbook specific?
