Grocery Deals of the Week – Albertson’s

It’s stockpile time at Alberton’s. You do have a stockpile, don’t you? This is a good time to start if you don’t. They’re having an incremental sale – the more you buy, the better you save. Here are the best deals I found there:

Skippy, buy 8 and get an extra $2 off, making them $1 apiece. There are .40 off coupons floating around out there (I paid a nickel apiece clipping fee) that make them even cheaper.

Lipton/Knorr Sides. Paul really likes the Alfredo ones. They’re 10/$10, but you get an extra $2 off when you buy 7, making them 7/$5. Now add in the $1/3 coupons! Note that you’ll need to do a few different transactions because you get $2 off 7 or more — $2 off for 14 in one transaction, or $4 off in two (it does say per transaction, not per day or customer).

Bertolli Olive Oil. We switched to olive oil-only a few years ago, and will never go back. It can be expensive. On sale right now 2/$10, with $6 off when you buy 4. Safeway had Bertolli hangtags a couple of weeks back and I picked up three of them, so that’s $3 less. Four bottles for $11 is a great deal!

Libby’s Vegetables. Are you old enough to remember the jingle? If it says Libby’s, Libby’s, Libby’s on the label, label, label, you will like it, like it, like it on your table, table, table? I’m dating myself again. They’re .50 each on sale – less $3 when you buy twenty, so .35 each. Stock up now for winter.

I do gather coupons from the stores and flip through them before I leave. But for me, paying a coupon clipping service is a better use of my time than gathering, clipping, and storing them (though I did like the suggestion not to clip until you use them). Everyone’s balance is going to be different. Post what works for you so we can learn from each other!
