Handmade Baby Shower Invitation

Making a baby shower invitation can be fun, easy and look great. If you plan properly, it could even be almost as fast as spending time at the store picking out and invitation and then writing all of the details in by hand. Here is an example of a handmade baby shower invitation that I made earlier this week.

Materials

Bazzill Basics Cream Puff Cardstock
Basic Grey Sweet Blossoms, Blossom and Scattered Flowers Cardstock
Cream and Brown Ric Rac
Staples
Xyron machine
Daisy Quickutz die and handle
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink – Tea Dye

One thing to keep in mind when you are mass-producing cards is that it saves a lot of time when you complete each step for all of the cards before moving onto the next step.

1. Cut the cream puff cardstock into 5 1/4 inch by 3 3/4 inch rectangles. Ink the edges.
2. Cut the 12 X 12 sheets of Sweet Blossom and Scattered Flowers cardstock in half. This will allow them to fit through the printer and you will get the most invitations out of each sheet. I was able to get the information for six invitations on each sheet of cardstock.
3. Type the information for the baby shower and print directly onto the cardstock. Leave a space in the text to allow a place for the ric rac to be attached.
4. Trim the cardstock you just printed on to fit inside the cream cardstock.
5. Use the daisy die to cut daisies from the Blossom paper. Run them through the Xyron to apply adhesive.
6. Cut 4-inch lengths of the two colors of ric rac.
7. Use the stapler to attach one of each color of the ric rac to the front of the invitation. Make sure you staple before you mount the patterned cardstock onto the cream cardstock so that the staple backs will not show on the finished project.
8. Using Hermafix, or other adhesive, attach the patterned paper to the cream cardstock.
9. Attach the daisy onto the upper corner of the invitation.

I would love to hear about any baby shower invitation ideas that anyone would like to share!
