Harvard Graduation Ticket Prices Soar!

The popularity of education has taken a new turn with a recent story that I came across while web-surfing. It seems that tickets for one university graduation may be the lastest demand.

Have you checked Ebay lately for Harvard graduation tickets? You might should. They have shown up for sale on Craigslist.com.

Students at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts are given a set number of tickets each year to give out to family and friends. The tickets are to be used for supporting graduating loved ones. Tickets are given out to help control the number of people that attend.

The students are told that the tickets are not to be sold and extra tickets can be given to other graduating members.

However, the speakers at this year’s ceremony have put the tickets into high demand. On Wednesday, the popular former President Bill Clinton will address the students. On Thursday, the speaker will be well-known millionaire Bill Gates. Both are very prominent men in today’s society.

The tickets on Craigslist.com were selling for $100.00 each.

The officials at Harvard University were not pleased with the students’ actions by selling the tickets.

The students were told that if they were caught scalping or selling the tickets online, they would receive disciplinary action.

I never dreamed that someone would pay $100.00 to attend a graduation ceremony in order to hear the speakers.

Hearing the speakers is usually the part that I dread most about attending commencement ceremonies.

University graduations are known to be long and monotonous. This one must certainly be different. I have never attended a graduation ceremony at Harvard. I will likely never have the chance to attend one unless one of my children make it there on a scholarship someday. For I definitely cannot afford to purchase a ticket to the event!
