Holidays at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

It is that time of year. It’s the time of year when Walt Disney World transforms into a magical holiday experience. There are special events at all the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort, and in Downtown Disney.

At the Magic Kingdom theme park, there’s a total holiday extravaganza going on. There’s a new parade, called Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parade, and of course the Very Merry Christmas Party that Heather wrote a recent blog about about. Also, there’s a fireworks spectacular every night. There are beautiful holiday decorations all over the park, and this year, “Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season”! There are live Disney character stage shows, character greetings, and snow on Main Street USA! Also, and this is really cool, the cookies and hot cocoa. For those of you who don’t know, you can get some of the yummiest cookies and cocoa you’ve ever tasted at the Magic Kingdom!

At Epcot, there will be the Holidays Around the World at the World Showcase. In addition, every night at 6pm you can celebrate the lighting of the Christmas tree, called Mickey Tree Lighting Treat. IllumiNations will be “Reflections of Earth”, with Walter Cronkite offering a special holiday message. Lights of winter is a synchronized light show with music, and you can also listen to holiday folklore from around the world. If you check out the Candlelight Processional, you will see one of my fellow cast members from Port Canaveral performing with the choir! The Candlelight Dinner Package is a great choice to enjoy the Candlelight Processional with!

Those are the events at the two largest and most popular theme parks. Look for more special events at other WDW Resort attractions in my next blog. For now, you can go to the Walt Disney web site for more information, and pictures. This is a fabulous way to celebrate the holidays, and it’s an experience you shall never forget, I think everyone should do it at least once!
