Home Week in Review: April 14 – 20

Well, there was quite a bit going on this week and there’s even more ahead. From a rat to an earthquake that rattled windows and nerves in several states to 4/20 a day set aside by pot users as some sort of “holiday,” we’ve had some unusual and interesting topics to discuss.

Follow Mary Ann’s mouse adventures here. Let’s wish her luck in showing her uninvited guest to the door!

*Mary Ann covered 4/20 (the pot “holiday”) in order to inform, certainly not to endorse it. While we may not like hearing about such things, it is better to be aware of such issues. A parent may hear a teen say, “Cool, it’s 4/20,” and now know exactly what’s up (previously, it could have slipped past, since 4/20 sounds so innocuous). This is the kind of information all parents need to be aware of and to hopefully share with others.

We also covered topics more typical to the Home Blog such as selling your home in a recession and more choices in perennials. If you’re gearing up for Earth Day or simply concerned with being ecologically responsible, you might be interested in these articles:

Then, there are the dreaded spring cleaning articles (shouldn’t spring cleaning be a four letter word?). But, wait… keep reading. Don’t turn away at those two little words. These articles cover two quick and simple, yet important, cleaning tasks that you can knock out in no time but that will leave you feeling better.

As always, we appreciate your time spent reading here and also any comments, questions, or suggestions you might have. Have a great weekend and please check back next week for more Home and Garden articles.
