American Girl Books

Accelerated Christian Education is a biblically based curriculum. It provides a child with reasonable goals, measurable success that motivates and rewards the child. ACE is known for its use of PACES a system of breaking the curriculum up into bite size pieces that gives the child a sense of accomplishment while informing them of how much further they have to go. This K-12 program also offers post-secondary courses to give a child a head start on college.

Activity Math is a manipulative based workbook program. “Each book is organized into 10 strands including place value, multiplication, fractions, decimals, and geometry. (Grades 4-6 also include ratio and percent.)” (amazon.com)

Add em up is an online interactive game that provides quick and fun math drills from someone starting addition.
Alpha Omega Lifepacs are available for grades k-12. “A LIFEPAC is a combination workbook and textbook. There are ten LIFEPACs per year, per subject, in our core curriculum. This program divides one hardbound book into ten smaller books making it simple for little hands to work with. This method is less intimidating than using one oversized textbook and it also makes the material more portable. Children enjoy it because they receive a new workbook every three to four weeks!” AOP.com

AmblesideOnline is a free curriculum that is very close to the Charlotte Mason curriculum. It is essentially a guide and booklist for parents to follow and is designed to be a parent-led program. There is an online support group for users.

American Girl Books teach readers about history through the historical fiction stories that girls can relate to. The American Girl brand also sells dolls, and has magazines, movies and clothes geared to young and pre-teen girls.

American School is a high school correspondence course. It is accredited by The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education as a secondary school. There is a college prep and general course to choose from. American School is a good path to a high school diploma if you feel you need a diploma.

Anchors and Sails is a reading program to train early readers. It consists of a workbook and introduces pre-reading skills to children. Anchors and sails links letter shapes to sounds.

Answers in Genesis “is an apologetics (i.e., Christianity-defending) ministry, dedicated to enabling Christians to defend their faith, and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ effectively. We focus particularly on providing answers to questions surrounding the book of Genesis, as it is the most-attacked book of the Bible. We also desire to train others to develop a biblical worldview, and seek to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas, and its bedfellow, a “millions of years old” earth”. (answersingenesis.com) They create curriculum to strengthen the faith for students of grades and ages through AIG online.

Ask Dr. Callahan delivers a complete curriculum for the high school math subjects of Geometry, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, and Calculus. The program includes DVD’s, college level textbooks, and video instruction for parents. They also offer free support.
