Homeschooling Blog Week in Review: July 31 to Aug 11

We said good bye to Andrea at the very end of July and then I began guest blogging in home schooling, and now it is officially, one of my blogs again! I have been writing off and on in August but now you can read my articles regularly in the fall–just in time for the new school year. I realized though that no one (I guess that would be me) published any week in reviews for the month of August. I find the week in reviews helpful in other blogs, to see if I missed anything. So with that said, here is the week in review for part of August (dates noted in title).

July 31 It Has Been a Great 7 Months

On the last day of July, we said good bye to Andrea. She was a great home schooling blogger, offering lots of insights from her experience with home schooling her two children. (I have tough shoes to fill.) But we wish her luck in her future endeavors and if you’re a regular here, chances are very good that you’ll see her popping up every now and again!

August 8 Great Ways to Start Off the New School Year

Don’t let the new school year lack pizazz for your kids. Even if you school year round you can still get great ideas for starting afresh in the fall.

August 11 The Learning Environment at School

This blog is the result of a comment someone made about the learning environment being better preserved at school where the space was ‘designed’ to be a learning environment. Undoubtedly, there are more distractions at home then there are at school right? Read this blog in which I discuss my experience with distractions both as a classroom teacher, and then as a home schooling mom.

Tune in for more week in reviews this week!
