How about Some Dual Purpose Furniture for Outdoor Living Spaces?

I love home and garden centers and home improvement centers. I could get lost in these places all day. I like Home Depot as much as my husband does. He even shopped for one of my birthday presents there and his friends all told him he was going to be in big trouble when he gave me a pair of sawhorses for a gift.

“Nope, she wants them,” he replied, and he was right.

Not only do I want to be able to play outside but I also want to be able to work on my hobbies outdoors too. I can now set up a portable workstation and break out my Dremel, jigsaw, and other tools so I can make stuff.

The cool thing is that I can also clamp a piece of wood to the sawhorses, throw a tablecloth over the whole setup, and have an extra table to for serving or eating when we entertain outdoors. I love items that are dual use.

But, let tell you about something really cool. During our latest venture to the world of home and garden items, I saw a neat item and added it to my wish list. It was a sturdy, hard plastic, white park bench style seat. That may not sound very interesting until you hear what it can do. If you push the seat back down, the armrests rest on the seat, making a table top. Push two of these together and you have an instant picnic table. After eating, clear the food, wipe the table, and return to the park bench position to sit and visit.

The best part was that the bench/table is affordable. The benches are regularly sold separately for between $69-75, depending on where you look. The ones I saw yesterday were on sale for $50.00 each. Usually, you can’t buy two benches or a picnic table for a hundred dollars, but now you might be able to get two for the price of one! Check your local home improvement center or supercenter to find out if they carry this item.
