I use to be afraid to prepare foods with honey because I thought that it wouldn’t taste right. But once I started using it often in recipes, I realized that it made foods taste better.
To produce one pound of honey, it takes over 500 worker bees. Honey is made of simple natural sugars. It also contains small amounts of vitamins and nutrients too.
Today, people are trying to make an effort to get into shape and to eat right . In fact, it is a new year’s resolution for many people. Honey is being used as part of their diets. Honey contains no refined sugar, only natural. If you’re dieting, then you can add a certain amount of honey to your diet, and feel good about it.
Honey never spoils. You just need to keep it in a sealed container to keep it fresh. It’s also better if you leave it stored in a cool, dark place. Don’t leave it out uncovered because it will eventually lose its flavor.
If you freeze or refrigerate the honey, it will crystallize. You can bring it to room temperature by setting it in a pan of warm water until crystals disappear.
Honey can replace sugar in most of your recipes. Make sure you reduce your liquid 1/4 cup for each one cup of honey that you use. If you bake a recipe that includes honey, it will keep fresh longer.
