How Will I Ever Scrapbook All These Photographs?

Organizing your photographs, scrapbooking supplies and tools is only a small, albeit important aspect of scrapbooking. The more organized that you are, the more you will complete. But what about when you take a look at all those photographs and wonder how you will ever get them all done and in albums?

Perhaps, if you have been scrapbooking for a long time, you have several albums complete. Some might be bigger and fuller than others, and some might still have a long way to go.

Looking around what do you see? Boxes full to the brim, or overflowing with photographs? Do you see DVD’s that are completely full to the limit with digital photographs? Is your computer about to run out of space because you have so many photographs?

Are you ready for an intervention?

Many scrapbookers go through a scrapper’s block, which I have talked about before. But for most, it isn’t even scrappers’ block. It is the overwhelming big picture of thousands of photographs that are supposed to be put into albums to be shared and cherished on decorated pages that took eight painstaking hours to complete per page.

Sure. If I scrapbooked that way, I wouldn’t get anywhere.

So what is the solution?

  • Use photo albums to store your photographs in order. That way your family and friends can enjoy the photographs even before they get scrapbooked.
  • Scrapbook in a simple way. Don’t assume that you need all the latest and greatest scrapbook products. Just purchase what you will need, basic supplies and fill those albums up.
  • Print your digital images as soon as possible after taking them. This keeps hard copies as well as your digital back ups and allows you the freedom to scrap those pictures when the creativity hits.
  • Use page kits, sketches and any other self-proclaimed method you find, to scrapbook faster and easier.
  • Don’t allow yourself to get overwhelmed by the amount that still “needs” to get done. Keep in mind that even the most seasoned scrapbooker has hundreds of photographs that still need to be scrapbooked.

Don’t stress and allow yourself to make scrapbooking fun. Because when it stops being fun, it is no longer the hobby for you.
