I Got My Book!

I got my book today!

Earlier I discussed how my curiosity of discussion in the forums led me to purchase the book The Power of a Praying Wife.

So far I have skimmed several chapters and read a couple all of the way through.

I cannot say that I find the book totally ridiculous as one commenter seemed to feel in the reviews that I had read.

However I can see how desperate wives in attempt to find a miracle to save their marriage could be mislead in thinking that a quick fix is about to take place.

I have never doubted the power of prayer. However at times the author does seem to give a little too much insight into the hope of a “fairy tale” ending.

The chapter that I focused on today was about husbands and their priorities. I recently wrote an article about finding balance in your life and I felt that this would be a good chapter to explore. I was very surprised to see how the book focused more on the wife and the things that she should be doing.

I actually liked this about the book. In many cases when we are searching for marriage help we focus more on the bad aspects of our spouse. This book makes you think about yourself as well and your husband. It gives you insight on how the attitudes and actions of both people interact to create the mood of the relationship.

I have also enjoyed seeing scripture and prayers stated for each circumstance. Many people are not familiar enough with the Bible to know where to look for particular scriptures dealing with relationships. In this book the searching is done for you. The author also helps get you started on how to ask God to help.

I cannot wait to read more to share with you!
