Usually, I write fairly serious articles and blogs here in the Home Business blog. This morning, however, I am feeling a bit more light-hearted and have been imagining ways to have fun with motivation and meditation on our home businesses. After all, there is more to life than just work and seriousness. This morning I am wondering a very important and playful question—if your business was a color, what color would it be?
When my children were little, we used to play this game with various emotions and feelings in order to help them learn how to express themselves. I would ask them “If your excitement was a color what would it be?” Being able to visualize in colors was a fun way to think about things. When it comes to my home business, however, I have to admit that it is probably different colors on different days…
There are days when my home business is a bit sad and neglected; I think it is probably a grayish blue on those days—a very pale and almost liquid version of that color combination. Other days, it is brilliant and efficient and I get a lot done—on these days I think it would be a bright, sunny yellow. Still other days, my home business is like a thorn in my side—something heavy and unsatisfying. On these days I think my business would be more of a scratched, gun-metal grey.
What about your home business operation? If it was a color what would it be? Would it be like mine and change on different days or is it closely tied to your own mood and feelings about what is going on? We could take it a step further and say what color would you LIKE your home business to be? I think I would like mine to be green—the same green color as money…
