Host Neal Conan points out that the Drug Enforcement Administration thinks that the problem is not really a shortage, but is actually a problem with distribution. He interviews several adults who have been prescribed Addrall, but now are unable to get it. They talk about how this has affected their lives, and their health. Some describe the problems they are having getting their prescription because they lack health insurance.

Host Neal Conan also speaks with NPR health correspondent Richard Knox about what he has reported for “Morning Edition” about the Adderall drug shortage. Later, he speaks with Dr. James McGough, professor of psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine about this issue.
