iPhone Flash and More

Want to know the latest information about the iPhone? Here you go!

A recent report confirms that the iPhone is now completely sold out of both Apple and AT&T retail stores. The Apple online store is reflecting a 2-4 week wait time, and that doesn’t include shipping, activation, etc. The phone is still in hot demand, and sales may increase exponentially if the demand can be met.

One of the very few complaints about the iPhone is that it doesn’t have a Flash player. When users go to certain websites, they find that it can’t always play the video on the sites. This is because the version of the Safari web browser that comes with the iPhone is missing some plug-ins that are needed for playing the videos, such as the Adobe Flash plug-in. Apple says that it will be adding that Flash plug in as part of an early software update. Analysts predict that this update will occur in the next month or two.

Videos can be played on the iPhone currently, through the YouTube feature and through downloads from the iTunes store. Users can also play some videos that they have created themselves.

European companies are scrambling now to be chosen as service providers for the iPhone. O2 has won the exclusive rights to carry and provide service for the iPhone, beating out its competitor, Vodafone. Vodafone was pushing hard for the deal but then decided that the commercial terms would not work for the company.

T-Mobile obtained the deal in Germany, and Orange is the favorite in France.

Originally, Apple considered having one company contracted for all of Europe, possibly Vodafone, but then decided that it could increase revenue through the negotiation of individual marketing deals.

T-Mobile was originally considered for a contract in the United States, but as you know, Apple instead secured a deal with AT&T to carry the iPhone.
