Jack Myers Media Village

Jack Myers is the editor and publisher of Jack Myers Media Business Report, a leading advertising trade newsletter with a subscription based of over 20,000. He is well known in media, advertising, entertainment, financial, political and social circles for his take on pop culture as well as the media business. Named one of the “1,000 Most Creative Individuals in the U.S.” by Who’s Really Who in America, Jack travels the country speaking about media trends and how media technology impacts both businesses and our culture.

Jack’s resume is very impressive, including a stint as a CBS sales executive, executive vice president of UTV cable network (the first interactive TV programming service), and co-conceiver, organizer and manager of Television Programming Partners, which was nominated for an Oscar and Emmy and won the prestigious Peabody Award. A board member of the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse, Jack also serves on the advisory board for Steinhardt School at New York University, and is member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Jack is the author of the 1998 book, “Reconnecting with Customers.”

In 1995, President Clinton invited Jack to lead a contingent of advertising executives to a White House Conference focused on Educational Television Programming. 50 leaders from the television industry attended that conference. Jack has always been a advocate of parental controls for television as well as supporting the TV ratings program and the Family Friendly Programming Forum.

Late last year, Jack launched MediaVillage.com. It is a community that gives a behind-the-scenes look into media, entertainment, and advertising. MediaVillage is the largest community website for professionals who are passionate about media, especially television. It is a community where members can interact by sharing comments, thoughts, and experiences, helping to keep them ahead of the game.

But, it is also a great place for regular people who just love television. I know because I am one of many moderators there. I love to talk about television with others. It has been something I’ve long been passionate about and I will be the first to admit that I watch way too much of it. It does not matter whether you like sports, reality shows, sitcoms, dramas, or game shows; we talk about it all at MediaVillage.com. There are also 17 great and timely fanblogs – you can even request your own!

Sign up for a free registration at MediaVillage.com and join us in the discussions about your favorite television shows.

About Libby Pelham

I have always loved to write and Families.com gives me the opportunity to share my passion for writing with others. I work full-time as a web developer at UTHSC and most of my other time is spent with my son (born 2004). I love everything pop culture, but also enjoy writing about green living (it has opened my eyes to many things!) and health (got to worry about that as you get older!).
