So it’s nearly the end of the month. It’s time to check in and see how you are doing on those New Year’s resolutions for your home business.
I don’t believe in creating resolutions, goals or whatever you wish to call them without having a plan to review them. Otherwise you are wasting your time.
So my goal is to challenge you to look at the list you created in the beginning of this month and ask yourself…what steps have I made to fulfill these goals? If you haven’t moved an inch this could mean one of two things.
First, it could mean that your list wasn’t realistic or doable. Perhaps you were aiming too high or didn’t take certain things into account. Re-evaluate your goals or resolutions and make any adjustments. You might even find it necessary to toss out the whole list and start again.
Second, it could mean that you haven’t developed an action plan. You simply created a “wish list” without having any actions behind it. It’s not enough to come up with a goal. You have to ask yourself, “What steps do I need to take in order to reach that goal?”
That is where your action plan comes in. Maybe at this point you don’t even know what steps are necessary. Then do some research. Look into it. But don’t give up. It is way too early in the ballgame to do that.
For myself, I have started to make some progress where I want to. It isn’t much but it’s something. It is amazing how even a little something can motivate you to move forward.
Don’t look to make things happen in just one day. Successful home-based businesses take time. But they also take effort, so make sure you are putting some into it.
