Keeping Scrapbook Layouts Affordable

left

Scrapbook fans no longer have the excuse of limited funds to explain boring layouts. These days all you need to create eye-popping page designs that look like a million bucks is a computer and printer.

The boom in technology has led to a slew of websites offering free scrapbooking embellishments. If you are working with a strict budget and can’t afford to run out and purchase new scrapbook elements for each new layout, let the Internet be your assistant.

Sites, such as ScrapbookScrapbook offer hundreds of free scrapbook embellishments, including clip art. You don’t have to spend a dime to download graphics from the site to add to your memory album. What’s more, the site is extremely organized, so you can find themed items quickly. Clip art options run the gamut from holidays, baby, birthdays and food to weddings, anniversaries, military and travel.

If you are looking for free scrapbook clip art that can be customized to work with a variety of kid-themed layouts, check the offerings at Cute Colors. The website features adorable graphics, such as chubby panda bears, pretty pixies, and adorable baby bunnies. The free items included on ScrapbookScrapbook and Cute Colors, as well as dozens of other scrapbooking sites, can be used to embellish digital and traditional layouts. If you are crafting the latter, simply print the images onto acid-free cardstock, cut-out and adhere to your scrapbook page.

For those who have made the move to all-digital, your options are even greater. Sites such as Digital Scrapbook Place offer entire kits complete with letters, quotes, frames, and embellishments in a number of different styles, free of charge. Shabby Princess also offers several free “shabby chic” digital scrapbooking kits for you to use in your memory album. The downside to these free embellishments is that the files are rather large. Remember to exercise patience when you are downloading the free materials.
