Kim Kardashian Gets Pelted

Reality star Kim Kardashian and PETA have tangled in the past due to her love of real fur. So, when I read the other day that Kardashian had been pelted on the Red Carpet last Thursday with a bag of flour, I just assumed someone from PETA was behind it.

PETA activists have been known to throw flour in the past, but this time PETA denied any connection to the woman. However, the organization did pipe up after Kardashian said she planned to press charges against her attacker.

PETA told TMZ that “If she presses charges, at least people will be constantly reminded of her selfish, callous disregard for the cruel deaths that she causes by wearing fur.” The statement went on to read, “How much better it would be if she decided to evolve and enhance her image by donating her vulgar furs and exotic-animal skins to the homeless. The activist acted from the heart, something Kim doesn’t seem to have.” It ended with “If anything, Kim should get a life, the very thing that she denies animals.”

Now, it appears as if the woman who threw the flour, Christina Cho, does have connections with PETA after all. This isn’t her first anti-fur act. In 2010, she took the microphone from designer Donna Karan to condemn the use of fur in a fashion show. When PETA mentioned the act, they referred to Cho as a member. And, Cho’s sister Michelle is a top official at PETA’s Los Angeles office.

And in flouring one Kardashian, PETA and its supporters have lost another Kardashian. Although Kim seems to love her fur, sister Khloe has long been a supporter of PETA, even posing for one of their “Fur? I’d Rather Go Naked” ads.

But, after this whole flour incident, Khloe has now tweeted that she is “absolutely disgusted by their [PETA’s] behavior” after the attack and has cut ties with the organization. She released a statement which read “Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior. I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me.”

Oddly enough, it was Michelle Cho that helped set up Khloe’s nude 2008 PETA ad.

Still, rumors are that Christina acted without either her sister Michelle or PETA knowing about the plan. But, PETA has volunteered to help her with legal expenses. Khloe has also said she will remain anti-fur despite breaking ties with PETA.
