When I think of television dogs, Lassie is the first dog to come to mind. I can remember growing up watching old black and white episodes of Lassies television show. Lassie has starred in 691 television episodes and eleven movies, talk about a hard working pooch. Lassies television show is one of the longest running shows in television history and has been broadcast in over 100 different countries worldwide.
Lassie was named one of Variety magazines “Icons of the Century” in a November 2005 issue for the impact she has made on the worlds youth since 1938. Lassie is only one of three pets to have her own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
Keeping with her hard working tradition, next month Lassie is releasing a new movie “Lassie” based on the 1940 novel “Lassie Come-Home”. She is currently on a five-month cross-country tour promoting pet health, and her new natural dog food Natural Way.
To go along with Lassies new pet food line the dog food is having a “My Pet, My Pal” contest. The winner gets a year supply of dog food, a trip to LA to meet Lassie, a cameo on a TV show with Lassie, and their picture with Lassie on her dog food.
