LDS Christmas Devotional

The First Presidency Christmas Devotional will be held on December 3, 2006. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. MST. The broadcast will be available at your local ward building. This is a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season.

The devotional will include music from the Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra of Temple Square. In years past there have been a variety of guest soloists who have sung with the Tabernacle Choir. The music each year is beautiful, and a reminder of the reason that we celebrate Christmas.

The members of the First Presidency also speak at the devotional. Each year the messages remind us of the true meaning of Christmas. It is a wonderful way to feel the Spirit. The devotional allows you to begin the holiday season focused on the true meaning of Christmas.

If you are unable to go to your ward building, you may view the broadcast live via the Internet or by watching BYU-TV. If you live outside of the United States or Canada you should contact your local church leaders to learn the time of the rebroadcast for your area. Archives of the broadcast should be available on Wednesday December 6, 2006, as well.

This is a wonderful event. If you live in Utah you may also want to take the time to visit Temple Square sometime over the next month. Every year the lights at Temple Square are beautiful. There are also many other special Christmas events and concerts offered throughout the month. You can learn more by visiting the Temple Square’s event calendar.

If you live outside of Utah, many wards plan a Christmas ward activity. Often wards will also participate in a service project for those in need. You may want to participate in these events as well. You can also plan a small nativity with your family to keep the focus on the Savior.
