LDS Family Week in Review: May 6- May 12

In Seeking Out the Lost, we talked about our responsibility to help those who have lost their way spiritually. In Brought Back Into the Fold, we discussed the reason for such a celebration when the lost sheep come back to join us at church.

Monday, May 7th: In Asking For Help, we talked about asking our ward families for assistance. In Home & Visiting Teaching Lessons, we learned about choosing the right Conference talk for the folks we visit. In General Conference: “Ye Must Be Born Again”, we were taught the Parable of the Pickle. And in Dinner Discussions 2007 Week 16, we referred tot he various subjects covered at church on Sunday.

Tuesday, May 8th: In Reminiscing, I spent a little time recalling the thoughts and feelings I had as I was brought into the church. In Serving In the Relief Society: Compassionate Service Leader, we learned about how the compassionate service leader helps sisters in the ward. And in Primary Time: The Primary Theme, we learned a little bit about the scripture from 3 Nephi 22:13 and how it relates to our children.

Wednesday, May 9th: In LDS General Conference Scripture Citation Index, we discussed a great resource linking the scriptures with teachings of modern day prophets. In Five Gifts for Your Mother, we talked about some interesting Mother’s Day gift ideas.

Thursday, May 10th: In How to Tell You’re A Mormon Mom, we looked at ten ways to tell the real LDS moms from the fakes. And in The Ten Best Things about the Annual Father Son Campout, we talked about ten things to savor when dad and the boys go camping!

Friday, May 11th: In General Conference From the Past: Mother, Catch the Vision of Your Call, we summarized a 1974 talk given to inspire mothers and remind them of the eternal nature of a sometimes draining calling (that’s motherhood, by the way). In The Process of Conversion, we discussed the changes that come when you are truly converted to the gospel of Christ. And in Honor Your Wife, we talked about how husbands honor their wives through their words and actions.

Saturday, May 12th: In Family Home Evening: The Parable of the Pickle, we talked about how to apply Elder Bednar’s Conference talk to our Family Home Evening lesson.
