LDS Week in Review April 23-28

We had a great week in the LDS blog last week. You can gain insights to this week’s lessons by reading Gospel Doctrine: Manifesting The Works of God, Gospel Doctrine: Physical and Spiritual Blindness, and RS/EQ: Technology, Blessings and Scriptures.

This week for Relief Society we learned about serving as a teacher in Serving in Relief Society: Teacher. You can learn more about past presidents of the Relief Society by reading Relief Society Presidents: Elaine L. Jack, Relief Society Presidents: Mary Ellen Smoot, and Relief Society Presidents: Bonnie D. Parkin.

There were several blogs on strengthening your family this week. Dinner Discussions 2007 Stake Conference gives you ideas on how to discuss Stake Conference with your family. Young Men: Teaching the Standards gives suggestions on teaching the standards to your youth. In Strengthen Our Youth, you can learn other ways to strengthen your children in the gospel as well. Family Home Evening: Commitment to the Gospel uses scripture stories and a General Conference talk to help encourage your family to keeping the commandments.
In General Conference: “Commitment to the Lord”, we learn what Elder John B Dickson speaks specifically to the youth about commitment to the gospel. We learn more about commitment to the standards in The Importance of Living Church Standards.

We learned a little bit more about Nursery in Primary Time: Nursery Leader. In Young Women: “Let Virtue Garnish Thy Thoughts Unceasingly” we learned about President Hinckley’s counsel to the young women. Young Men: College and a Mission discusses the choices each young man has in regards to attending college and serving a mission. In Missionaries we learned some of the benefits of serving a mission.

We learned about a new documentary on the LDS church that airs tonight on PBS in A New Documentary about the LDS Church. Hopefully you can tune in to watch it tonight.
