LDS Week in Review – December 10th – 15th

If you missed some of the blogs here in LDS over the last week, come check out the week in review and get caught up.

In “Shepherds of the Flock,” we read Spencer W. Kimball’s lesson on how we need to support our leaders and serve willingly in the Church.

Wondering how to submit your genealogical information, now that it’s been gathered? Read “Using TempleReady” to discover the next step.

If you need ideas for meaningful Christmas gifts, you might consider giving food storage. “December Preparedness Goals” gives you more information on this, as well as other ideas to put you a step closer to being prepared for whatever life might bring.

In “My Son is a Big Brown Bear,” we read about progression in the Cub Scouting program and how the Bear requirements differ from that of the Wolf pack.

Mrs. Patton – the Story Continues” is the report of a talk given by Thomas S. Monson about a childhood friend of his.

Dinner Discussions 2007, Week 45” gives us great ideas for discussion with our families, from the twelfth Article of Faith to the need to help support our church to the Book of Revelations. Some meaty topics to go along with dinner!

Do you have a child who will still be in nursery after the start of the year? “Left Behind in Nursery” discusses ways to help children who may feel left out as they see their older friends progress into the Sunbeam class while they must remain behind.

In “Getting out of Debt,” we read quotes from the Apostles about the need to be independent, and read about a family who has taken this challenge seriously.

After a hiatus, Tristi continues the Scripture Study series with 1 Nephi 12:1-10 and 1 Nephi 12:11-18. We also read a review of “When I First Met the Prophet,” taken from journals of those who knew the Prophet Joseph Smith personally.

In “Follow the Fellow Who Follows a Dream,” we discuss how people of God are often thought to be dreamers, and we shouldn’t discount them just because their ideas seem unusual. We also answered another gospel question in “What About Infant Baptism?” and explored the need for quiet in our lives in order to truly communicate with our Heavenly Father through the Spirit.

We hope you’ll be able to join us this next week in LDS!
