Making it ALL More Manageable

Alright, maybe I’m biting off more than I can chew here–surely I cannot give everyone advice on how to make every aspect of their home business more manageable–but we can put the problem out here on the table and brainstorm ways to take a home business from hectic and scattered to more “under control” and manageable…

Here is what I do know–we humans have a tendency to avoid those things that are most problematic for us. When it comes to our home businesses, this can mean that we do the stuff we like and that comes easily for us and then we put off dealing with the more challenging aspects of our business. This can make these areas get more and more “out of control.” Whether it is networking, marketing, bookkeeping, or whatever it is that gives you headaches in your business–chances are it is the area where you pay the least attention. Just making up your mind to stop ignoring the problem areas and pay attention may be the most important step in making it more manageable.

If you absolutely cannot figure out how to get aspects of your home business under control–get help. Find a consultant, an expert, or someone who specializes in your trouble areas to help you get it into a manageable condition. There is no sense in continuing to bang your head against the wall trying to do everything on your own. If it is an area that is giving you fits and making success more challenging, accessing help is the smartest and best thing you can do for your home business (and your own sanity).

You may never be able to get your business into a perfectly smooth-sailing operational place (and who would really want to?)–but you can make things more manageable. Focus on the problem areas instead of ignoring them and you may be able to smooth out some of the bumps.
