Media Week in Review – April 21st-25th

We sure had a lot of fun this week in Media Reviews. Well, we always have fun, and this week was no exception.

We started off with a review of “Embittered Justice,” the story of a woman who was accused of a crime she did not commit and could not get anyone to believe her. She was finally set free, but only after time in jail and in court. This is a story of how the justice system can sometimes fail. A fiction novel, it is based on a true story.

What is America reading this month? Take a look at “Amazon’s Bestsellers April 2008” and see what’s on everyone’s nightstands.

We had an interview with Michaela Riley, the lady who wrote “Embittered Justice,” and we also spoke with Ginger Carlson, author of “Child of Wonder.” She granted us a two-part interview, here and here.

Almost Sisters” is a charming LDS novel about three women who meet at BYU Education Week and start a friendship that will sustain them over many years.

“C D B! and C D C?” are two children’s books that have been cleverly illustrated by William Steig. We also had an interview with Gabriella Goddard, author of the self-help book “Gulp!” about overcoming fear.

Did you know you can (in some areas) “Manage Your Library Account Online” and save on overdue fees by knowing exactly when your books should be returned?

We also read true story “Seasons of Salvation” by Dennis Mangrum about a school class who decides to go the extra mile and perform a Sub for Santa miracle for a family in their community.

Who didn’t watch the television show “Little House on the Prairie” when they were younger? We took a look at this endearing show and the actors who starred in it.

We ended the week with a review of the PodCast “StoryCorp,” which travels the country interviewing people for their stories and has aired the experiences of tens of thousands of people.

We hope you enjoyed this look back and that you’ll be able to join us again soon here in Media.
