Energy meditation is a good technique for people who are new to meditation. You will use your imagination in energy mediation to see the energy around you, which is great if you find your mind wandering during meditation. The idea is that everything in and around ourselves is energy and through the use of the imagination, you can experience it.
Find a comfortable and quiet place to sit for your practice. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Begin to imagine everything around you in the room as an energy field. Imagine yourself surrounded by energy like water in an ocean and then becoming part of the energy field.
Breathe and relax as you continue imagining the whole earth and universe as one enormous energy field. Focus on the image and create a vibrant picture of the energy that surrounds you in your mind.
Don’t just see the energy in your mind, but feel it flowing all around you. The more you relax and begin to sink into the meditative state, the more you will experience the feeling of energy all around you.
As you are breathing, imagine the energy expanding and becoming stronger with each breath. Feel your body becoming connected to the energy field of the entire universe. Let the energy flow through your body and become one with the ocean of energy.
Stay relaxed and focused in this meditative state for anywhere from ten to twenty five minutes or so. The longer you spend in meditation, the more you will reap the benefits of the practice. If you are new to meditation, try it for ten minutes the first time and gradually increase the time you spend meditating.
Energy meditation increases consciousness and the feeling of connection with God within and the energy and life around you. This form of meditation is helpful for relieving stress, reducing anxiety and inducing a deep calm and relaxation.
