Meet a Families.com Blogger – Dale Harcombe!

daleToday we are joined by the incomparable Dale Harcombe, who shares her taste in movies with me. Dale, thanks for chatting with me today. How long have you blogged for Families.com?

Since mid-May 2007. I started just after coming back from Alpha 2 Omega, a Christian writers’ convention in Brisbane, Queensland.

What topics do you blog about?

At this stage Christian, though it seems to encompass different areas of life, since being a Christian affects all of living.

What is your favorite thing about blogging for Families.com?

I like the feeling of commmunity and interaction. Also when people let me know they have found a blog helpful. I like thinking about what topics to write about and find blog ideas in strange places.

What do you like to do when you’re not blogging?

In no particular order:

Write. I have written children’s and adult fiction, poetry, Bible studies, a radio play, educational materials, articles, children’s songs and finger plays, skits – in other words whatever people need. My website includes covers of some of my books and some poems etc.

Read- My mother taught me to read when I was four. I’ve pretty much had my head stuck in a book ever since, and believe me that’s been a number of years!

Play tennis- with all the sitting around reading and writing, I need to exercise. I also like walking too but prefer tennis. I think it appeals to my competitive nature even if it is only social these days.

Spend time with my husband and enjoy being together.

Watch AFL (Australian Football) My team is the Sydney Swans.

Live theatre – I love live theatre. I like movies too but prefer live theatre.

Time with family and friends.

Sing. I only like music with words. It’s harder to sing instrumentals though I have been known to try it.

Take photos.

Is there anything in particular you would like our readers to know about you?

In case anyone hasn’t guessed, I am from Australia. I grew up in Sydney, Australia’s largest city, moved to the country in 1991. I now live on the beautiful south coast of NSW.

I learned to read about age four too, Dale, and I hear you on only liking music with words! If I can’t sing to it, it doesn’t do a thing for me.
