Mildew Be Gone

Are you sick and tired of dealing with mold and mildew? If you have a poorly ventilated bathroom that has become the prefect breeding ground for the smelly living organisms, then you might feel as though you are fighting a losing battle. Fortunately, there is hope for a clean lavatory that doesn’t require detoxing every week.

The following mold and mildew removers have served me well in the past:

Remedex Mold and Mildew Remover: I used this when I was living in a tiny one bedroom apartment in Hawaii where mold and mildew came to party. The product is safe to use on just about any surface, including upholstery and a variety of fabrics. I used it on my shower curtain and it worked like a charm. What’s more, Remedex is non-bleaching, non- abrasive and very simple to use. Just spray it on the mildew, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe or rinse the area clean with warm water.

Iosso Mold and Mildew Cleaner: This particular cleaner is like a mold and mildew eraser. However, it is most effective on awnings, tents, cushions and umbrellas. I used it on my plastic bike cover and it removed the ugly mildew stains almost upon contact. Iosso is safe on colors and can be used on a variety of hearty materials. Plus, it also gets out other stains besides mold and mildew, including blood, bird droppings, tree sap and grease.

3M Marine Mildew Stain Remover: Don’t let the name fool you, 3M Marine Mildew Stain Remover is not only effective on boating-related items. It also removes mold and mildew stains from car seats, patio furniture, life jackets, carpets and upholstery. Simply spray the cleaner on the mildewed item and allow it to sit for a while. You should see the stains lifting and fading. Once it gets to that point, wipe the area clean with a damp cloth.
