Miley Cyrus Scores a Used Car and Stars Seek Out Obama

The words “Miley Cyrus” and “frugal” don’t seem a natural fit to me, but then again everything is relative.

The latest out of Hollywood is that the tween singing sensation is the proud new owner of a car. A Porsche Cayenne to be exact. But, here’s the catch: the hot wheels are a hand-me-down from her mom.

According to reports, after earning her learner’s permit two days ago, the “Hannah Montana” star received an early Christmas present from her mom Tish. Mommy dearest apparently handed her freshly turned 16-year-old the keys to her Porsche. (Which by the way, retails for about $50,000-$90,000.)

“Tish got a new car recently, so she’s giving Miley her old car,” a source told PEOPLE magazine. “She’s so excited. Her mom lets her drive to work when she’s with her.”

In addition to the sweet ride, the teen also picked up her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song, “I Thought I Lost You,” from her movie “Bolt” this week.

I wonder if she’ll be rolling up to the red carpet in her college tuition/new house next month?

In other celebrity news, half of Hollywood is expected to be at the presidential inauguration next month.

According to reports, hundreds of stars are planning to fly east to Washington, D.C., to welcome Barack Obama as the new president of the United States.

One inauguration ball hosted by the Creative Coalition has already booked musicians Sting, Elvis Costello and Sam Moore to perform. In addition, the invite list includes a bevy of big-name guests, including Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, Marcia Cross, Tim Robbins, Seal, Adrian Grenier, Ashley Judd, Jane Krakowski, Rachael Leigh Cook, Spike Lee and Ron Howard.

What’s more, New York’s Daily News is reporting that loyal Obama supporters such as Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Mary J. Blige, Diddy and will.i.am are in talks to perform at the President-elect’s inauguration ceremony.
