Mommy Blogger Takes Hit Out on Hubby

Don’t worry; it’s not one of our mommy bloggers… at least not yet. Heh.

Okay, not funny.

Nor is the news that a 24-year-old wife and mother to two young kids is behind bars tonight for allegedly paying someone to kill her husband.

According to reports, Brittany Rachelle Martinez, an EMT and mommy blogger from Houston was caught masterminding a murder-for-hire plot that would have offed her firefighter husband.

Police say Martinez offered a friend between $1,500 and $2,500 to gun down her hubby and make it look as though it was “work-related.” The Houston Chronicle claims the mom approached a pal who worked at a local Mexican eatery and paid a $500 down payment in order to get the ball rolling on the hit.

The criminal complaint reveals the desperate mom also gave the hit man a copy of her husband’s work schedule, a physical description of the father or her two kids, and instructions that he be killed before he realized that she withdrew $500 from their joint bank account to have him sleep the big sleep.

The bizarre ordeal never went according to the mom’s plan.

Turns out she was ratted out and is now sitting in jail without bond for the solicitation of capital murder.

Sad as this may be, it just goes to prove that you just never know what’s really going on in other people’s lives despite what they may be posting on Facebook or tweeting or Instagramming… or publishing on their personal blog.

Martinez doesn’t come across as a psychopath in her blog posts. In fact, much of her writing addresses parenting issues she faces raising two children. She also publicly reveals that she had a third child who passed away at just two months old.

But, what’s even more amazing is how much she gushes about her husband. Last month she wrote this about the guy she wanted to see six feet under:

“In the overall plan of the year, Adrian and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary this coming October, for which we will be throwing a formal party/vow renewal. We will be able to have the wedding we didn’t get to have and say our vows again, this time truly understanding what those words mean. I have picked out the dress, we decided on the venue and the rest is a simple case of creativity and saving. Eeek, I’m so excited! :)”

The moral of the story: Just because it’s in print doesn’t mean it’s true.

You just never know…
