Movies Week in Review – March 10th-15th

I saw some fun movies this week. Would you like to hear about them?

First was “Just Like Heaven,” starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. He’s looking for an apartment to rent and finds one, only to discover it’s inhabited by a ghost who refuses to believe she’s dead. It’s a fun romantic comedy that the guys will enjoy, too.

My Girl 2” tells us what happens to Vada Sultenfuss after the death of her good friend, Thomas Jay. Still living in the funeral parlor, she’s faced with death every day, but she hasn’t yet dealt with the death that impacted her most – that of her mother. When a school assignment challenges her to write a paper on an important person, she decides now is the time to find out more about the woman who gave birth to her, and then died.

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” is a fun film for the whole family. When a magic toy store gets depressed, all the toys turn gray and don’t work right any more. But when store manager Mahoney learns to believe in herself, everything comes to life, more wonderful than before.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame” is a classic starring Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Esther Williams. A baseball team badly wants to take home another championship, but affairs of the heart keep getting in the way. Nothing that a romantic song can’t fix, though!

Short Circuit” introduces us to Number Five, a robot that was hit by lightening and now has a mind of his own. He escapes the laboratory where he was built and goes out into the world to make friends of his own.

I hope you enjoyed the recap of the week, and that you’ll join me again soon here in Movie Reviews. And if you’ve seen a film you think would be appropriate for the site, by all means, let me know!
